3. Program Preparation & Admin

4. Training & Certification

5. Field Execution & Doc Control

6. Program Review & Update

3. Program Preparation and Administration

In Step 3, the ArcSTOP team works with your business and personnel to comply with National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) 70E Article 130 (2004 Edition) which stresses that working on or near live electrical parts should be a last resort in the workplace.

Specifically, Section 130.1 says equipment must be in electrically safe working condition before an employee works on or near them unless the employer can demonstrate that de-energizing introduces additional or increased hazards or infeasibility.

As part of Step 3, we will:

< Establish roles and responsibilities for your personnel

< Establish rules of engagement

< Determine PPE types and inventory levels

< Prepare ArcSTOP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)      manual

Also, part of Program Preparation and Administration is the energized electrical work permit. This permit contains information that documents that shuting down the energizedelectrical equipment being worked is infeasible.
